HP EliteBook 840 Aero G8 Review

In this article, I give you my HP EliteBook 840 Aero G8 review with specs included. This is a business ultrabook, the lightest from HP. Aero stands for the liter version of the 840 and G8 for the eighth generation. It’s released in 2021 and I am reviewing it in January of 2022. It’s still the latest and greatest that HP offers in this line of laptops.

HP EliteBook 840 Aero G8 is a 14-inch ultrabook of the business premium category. It competes with the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 9, with the Dell Latitude (lightest versions of that) and the Vaio Z as well.

HP EliteBook 840 Aero G8 has a 14-inch display and one caveat is the only resolution option is Full HD. You have four different Full HD panels with a 16 by 9 aspect ratio. I know a lot of you are rooting for a 16 by 10 if not a three by two aspect ratio, that’s not something that you’re going to get here.

HP EliteBook 840 Aero G8 weighs two and a half pounds (which is 1.13 kilograms) so yes, it’s a light carry. It does come with a tiny charger and you can get it with a barrel pin charger if you want to free up the two Thunderbolt 4 ports for other uses, or you can get a USB-C charger of 45 or 65-watt. I have the 65-watt and it’s very light, does not really add to your carry weight which is nice.
